Atomic Blonde is More Like an Atomic Bomb!
This movie is a prime example of why it takes a team to make a great movie! By that I mean writers, directors, DP’s, actors, etc. but this movie wasn’t great. Yes, the soundtrack was dope, the actors are obviously all good, the action scenes were cool, but the movie just felt all over the place and it just didn’t have a good story. I mean if you like grand theft auto meets anime, meets 80’s nostalgia meets somewhat of a James Bond flick… well then you might love it. But me… I would have waited to see it on TV with commercials. And I hate commercials!
In a nut shell, “Atmoic Blonde” follows MI6 agent, Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron), as she guns her way through the streets of Berlin with David Percival (James McAvoy) during the Cold War to recover a compromised list of double British agents, while investigating the murder of fellow agent James Gasciogne (Sam Hargrave) and randomly hooking up a French operative, Delphine Lasalle (Sofia Boutella)
The movie goes back and forth between the past and present as Lorraine is being interrogated by Emmett Kurzfeld (John Goodman) and Eric Gray (Toby Jones), who are trying to figure out where’s the list and who’s the double agent. So, between that, the heavily coordinated fight scenes, the awesome girl on girl action, (they promoted the hell out of to get single guys like me) you got a lot that will steer your attention in many directions.
If you want to see it in theater with no commercials go to the dollar movies. They still have those right?
